Restoring and Rebuilding After Fire Damage

This full-scale renovation project exemplifies our commitment to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction. The project involved a complete top-to-bottom interior and exterior remodel transforming the home into a Fire losses can be devastating and present many challenges from a safety and construction perspective. At first our client worked with the mitigation firm recommended by their insurance agent and after a few weeks, terminated that relationship and looked to Fairchild Renovations.Often the claims process is very challenging and time consuming, which can result in renovation delays.Through persistent effort and countless hours of negotiation, we successfully secured a proper scope of work to fully address the damage, laying the groundwork for a complete home remodel.

Mitigating Fire Damage for Safety and Structural Integrity

The first phase of the project involved thorough mitigation of all the damage, not only the direct fire damage, but the resulting smoke and soot damage throughout the building. The first order of business was robust demolition efforts, followed by cleaning, and sealing to assure that surface and air quality met safety standards. Our efforts were validated by an independent assessment to move us to the next phase of renovation. This critical stage demonstrated our expertise in handling complex restoration challenges with precision and care.

Transforming the Home with Modern Upgrades

Beyond the fire damage restoration, we leveraged the opportunity and collaborated with the client to update the lay out and finish features. While the claim resources were limited to what existed before the loss, our disciplined approach help to ensure the appropriate claim recovery and identify the additional costs for our client. This home was constructed in 1928 and there had been several iterations of varying quality and scope, as well as nearly a century of various building materials and technology. Every aspect of the property had to be upgraded to meet modern standards functionally and incorporating the client’s visions for form and function resulting in a beautifully transformed space. From updated layouts to new finishes and fixtures, the home now reflects both functionality and contemporary style.

This project highlights our ability to navigate complex insurance claims and client advocacy. We understand the claims professional and insurer have a process and we are never adversarial. Through discipline and focus and collaborating as much as possible with the claims professional, the final settlement/payment of the claim was 6X the original estimate. By securing the necessary resources for a complete renovation, we not only restored the property but also added significant value to it.
